Landlord and Tenant Board

Licensed paralegals are permitted to represent clients in front of the Landlord and Tenant Board ("LTB"). This means we can help you navigate legal issues such as but not limited to the following:

• Non-payment of rent
• Illegal rent increases
• Maintenance issues
• Disruption to other tenants
• Bad faith filings
• Use of rental unit for yourself or immediate family

The LTB requires specific forms to be served and applications to be made depending on the other party's actions. The cost of your matter, if under the jurisdiction of the LTB, would be dependent on the number of forms and applications.

The cost of simply serving a form is $50. The cost of serving a form and proceeding with an application is $500 + application fees + 13% HST. If your matter requires multiple forms and/or multiple applications, you will be quoted a cost accordingly.

To advance the Law Society of Ontario's goal increasing accessibility of justice for the general public, our firm is making the dedication to have a maximum cost that will not be exceeded. As such, our LTB cases will cap at a maximum of $2,000 + application fees + 13% HST.
